Environmental & Sustainability Policy

Sets out how Tyto reduces its environmental impact across travel, technology, waste, suppliers and client work.

Purpose

Tyto Marketing Limited is committed to conducting its business responsibly and minimising the environmental impact of its activities.

As a specialist marketing and business consultancy, our direct environmental footprint is relatively limited. Nevertheless, we recognise our responsibility to reduce unnecessary resource consumption, make environmentally responsible purchasing decisions and consider sustainability in the way we operate and deliver services for our clients.

Our Commitments

Tyto Marketing Limited will seek to:

  • Comply with applicable UK environmental legislation and regulatory requirements.
  • Minimise energy and resource consumption wherever reasonably practical.
  • Reduce unnecessary business travel and favour virtual meetings where these can be equally effective.
  • Use digital documents, communications and workflows wherever practical to minimise paper consumption and printing.
  • Reduce waste and reuse or recycle materials wherever appropriate.
  • Consider environmental performance when purchasing equipment, products and services.
  • Work with responsible suppliers and contractors wherever practical.
  • Dispose of electronic equipment and other business waste responsibly.
  • Consider environmental and sustainability implications when advising clients where relevant to the project.
  • Review opportunities to further reduce the environmental impact of our business as the company develops.

Travel and Meetings

Tyto operates a flexible and predominantly digital working model, helping reduce the environmental impact associated with permanent office infrastructure and commuting.

Where travel is necessary, we will:

  • Use virtual meetings where physical attendance provides limited additional value.
  • Combine meetings and activities where practical to reduce unnecessary journeys.
  • Prefer public transport, particularly rail, where this represents a practical alternative.
  • Consider environmental impact alongside cost and operational requirements when making travel decisions.

Energy and Technology

Tyto aims to use technology efficiently and responsibly.

We will:

  • Purchase equipment based on business need rather than unnecessary replacement cycles.
  • Extend the useful life of computers, phones and other electronic equipment wherever practical.
  • Use energy-efficient equipment and settings where available.
  • Dispose of obsolete electronic equipment through appropriate recycling or waste-management channels.
  • Use reputable cloud and technology providers and consider their environmental commitments where appropriate.

Waste and Resource Management

Tyto seeks to minimise the physical resources required to operate the business.

Our approach includes:

  • Electronic contracts, reports, presentations and invoices wherever practical.
  • Minimising unnecessary printing.
  • Recycling paper, packaging and other recyclable materials.
  • Avoiding unnecessary single-use materials.
  • Purchasing supplies in appropriate quantities to reduce waste.

Suppliers and Partners

Tyto works with a network of specialist consultants, agencies and service providers. Where appropriate and proportionate to the engagement, environmental and sustainability considerations will form part of our supplier selection and management.

We encourage suppliers and partners working on our behalf to operate responsibly and comply with relevant environmental legislation.

Client Work

As a healthcare and commercialisation consultancy, Tyto may influence decisions relating to marketing, product development, events, communications and supply chains.

Where relevant to our scope of work, we will encourage clients to consider practical opportunities to reduce environmental impact without compromising regulatory compliance, patient safety, product quality or commercial effectiveness.

We will not make or recommend environmental or sustainability claims that we know to be misleading or unsupported.

Responsibility

Overall responsibility for this policy rests with the Managing Director of Tyto Marketing Limited.

Everyone working on behalf of Tyto is expected to support the principles of this policy and take reasonable steps to minimise environmental impact within their area of responsibility.

Continuous Improvement

Tyto recognises that environmental responsibility is an ongoing process.

The company will periodically review its working practices, suppliers, travel, technology use and resource consumption to identify practical opportunities for improvement.

This policy will be reviewed at least annually and updated where necessary to reflect changes in the business, legislation, client requirements and recognised good practice.
